Qatar National Day parade
The Security Committee for National Day Celebrations has announced that the Qatar National Day parade at Corniche will start at 9am on Saturday, December 18, and the entry for public is by invitation only.
In a press conference on Thursday, the Security Committee explained the organizational procedures and the security plan for the National Day parade on Doha Corniche and the National Day celebration activities on Saturday.
Brigadier Dr Ali Khajim Al Athbi, Director of the Facilities and Authorities Security Department, said attendance will be through invitations via barcode, as happened during the last celebration.
He called on the invitees to adhere to the specified paths so that there would not be any delays, stressing that the Corniche is open to invitees until 7:30 am and the paths will be closed after that.
Two places have been earmarked for public, with northern platforms accommodating 6,557 people and southern platforms accommodating 2,706 people, bringing the total number of public invited to the event to about 9,586.
There will be fireworks on the Doha Corniche in the evening and its timing will coincide with the end of the Arab Cup final.
