Qatar's Nasser Al Attiyah won the first stage of the Morocco Desert Rally (Rallye du Maroc) in its 24th edition, the fifth and final round of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) for the 2023 season.
Al Attiyah with his French navigator Mathieu Beaumel, on board a Toyota Hilux, came in first place after covering the 311-kilometre stage between Agadir and Zagora in a time of 3.03.38 hours with a difference of 3.45 minutes from his closest competitor Saudi Arabia's Yazeed Al Rajhi ranked second, while Frenchman Sebastien Loeb came in third place, 4.68 minutes behind the leader.
Al Attiyah topped the overall standings of the rally with a total time of 3.15.32 hours, 2.19 minutes ahead of his closest competitor, Al Rajhi, while Loeb came in third place, 3.38 minutes behind the leader.
