Mohammad Yunus was sworn in to lead a new interim government in Bangladesh.

During the swearing-in ceremony at the presidential palace in Dhaka, Yunus stressed that his priority would be to restore law and order in the country, adding that he would perform his duties sincerely.

More than a dozen members of his government, who will hold the title of advisors and not ministers, were also sworn in.

Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin announced the dissolution of parliament the day before yesterday, one day after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country amid anti-government protests.
