MoEHE National e-Learning Strategy Launched

MoEHE launches the national e-learning strategies for the advancement in the education sector.

H.E. Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), has unveiled a statewide e-learning plan to modernise the country's education system and prepare it to meet the demands of the labour market.

The strategy's purpose is to make a significant advancement in the use of advanced e-learning methodologies and cutting-edge educational technology to enhance educational results and ensure that everyone participating in the educational process understands the fundamentals of e-learning.

The strategy resulted in the development of four core strategic objectives, as well as a number of initiatives and performance indicators, all with the purpose of ensuring that e-learning functions properly.

Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, underlined during his remarks at the event that Qatar aspires to strengthen the efficacy of education under the wise leadership of Amir H. H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

He claims that the school system works effectively because instructors are educated and qualified, and modern technology is used in teaching and testing. He also said that Qatar was among the first nations to incorporate e-learning into its educational system.

According to Al Nuaimi, the Ministry of Education and Training's aims and the education and training sector plan for 2018-2022 contain a variety of initiatives and programmes aimed at improving students' and instructors' technological abilities.

According to the Undersecretary, the approach would assist enhance the quality of education in Qatar by providing college students with technical skills that will prepare them for the labour market after they graduate.

According to Al Nuaimi, this initiative will assist Qatar National Vision 2030 in meeting its objective of investing in people via a competent education system. This system will suit the demands of students, instructors, and the whole Qatari community. It will also address the labour market's demands, both now and in the future.

During his presentation, Nasser Mohammed Daoud, an Advisor in the Office of the Minister of Education and Higher Education and the Head of the E-Learning Strategy Project Management Team, emphasised that the strategy's major purpose is to support the public education system in a variety of ways.

He stated that the strategy's goal is to improve the quality of education in the country, to coordinate the work of various people in the education system, to improve the quality of education for students, to improve different people's academic and digital skills, and to involve more people in the education process.

The purpose of the effort to develop an e-learning strategy, according to Daoud, was to look at best practises utilised throughout the globe and find out how to apply them. He stated that the goal of this is to determine the strategic direction and changes that need to be made to capabilities, educational processes, and systems in order to get to where they want to be in the future, to determine what problems e-learning in the ministry is facing, and to create an executive plan that includes initiatives as well as a plan for communication and change management. He also said that the purpose is to determine the desirable future condition.

Daoud went into great length on the five components of the strategy. The strategic capacities axis includes the e-learning strategy, the regulatory environment, governance, and performance management. This axis is also responsible for the performance management axis. The model's second axis is made up of needs, which include labour, skills, a digital environment, and digital content. The provision of educational services, which encompasses e-learning, programme design, electronic curriculums, educational technology, and electronic assessment, as well as teaching techniques and educational assets, is the third axis.

"Educational analytics," "digital education culture," "quality assurance methods," and "cooperation and partnerships" are all part of the fourth axis, "operational capabilities." The fifth axis focuses on educational outcomes, which include both educational quality and student experience. This is done to connect e-learning with educational excellence.

According to Daoud, the ministry understands the present inadequacies of the e-learning system and is aware of a significant number of best practises relating to the five axes of the e-learning plan.
