Ministry of Commerce and Industry
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry won the Excellence Award in the Innovation category for the Electronic Inspection System, which was launched as part of its keenness to contribute to the State of Qatar's march towards digital transformation.
The Ministry said in a statement today that the Electronic Inspection System is the culmination of its efforts aimed at implementing measures to host events during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 under Law No. 10 of 2021 on measures to host the World Cup.
The E-Inspection System aims to enhance the capabilities of the Ministry's inspectors in the field of monitoring the concerned authorities to comply with the laws regulating the business and trade sectors in the country, especially in the fields of records, licenses, intellectual property rights, combating commercial fraud, control of defective and harmful goods, after-sales services, strategic inventory, evaluation and follow-up of prices, field control and central markets and others.
This system is also part of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's efforts to provide smart and innovative services that contribute to enhancing consumer protection, regulating the business environment, supporting competition and combating commercial fraud, and allows the ministry's inspectors to complete all procedures for filing violations to the concerned authorities electronically without the need to fill out paper forms.
The Electronic Inspection System provides the user with the possibility of transferring and following up inspection procedures, including minutes, notifications, payment of violations and fines, or completing reconciliation procedures with violators, as well as managing inspection campaigns, directing them, assigning inspectors, and helping to make decisions in the light of performance measurement indicators.
The award was received by Director of Planning and Quality Department and Acting Director of Information Systems Department Ali Khalid Al Khulaifi, at the ceremony organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to honor the winners of the Excellence Awards, on the sidelines of the recent opening of the first large-scale cloud data center area in the State.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry confirmed that it is working in cooperation with various ministries and concerned authorities in the country to contribute to the organization of the World Cup in November, in line with the law issued in this regard, which defines many measures, including monitoring the distribution, sale and advertising of all products marketed by FIFA, FIFA affiliated organizations, FIFA commercial partners, suppliers of goods, works contractors and service providers, at the places of activities and the commercial area under control.
The ministry monitors compliance with Law No. 11 of 2021 on the protection of trademarks, copyrights and related rights of the FIFA.
