The Milipol Qatar Committee held a press conference today May 23, 2022, to announce the details of the 14th session of Milipol Qatar 2022. The conference was attended by Maj Gen Nasser bin Fahd Al Thani, Chairman of the Milipol Qatar Committee, Yann Jounot, President of Milipol events and Brig Saud Al Shafi, member of the Milipol Committee.

The press conference witnessed the signing of sponsorship and cooperation agreements between the Milipol Qatar Committee and the sponsoring companies.

Maj Gen Nasser bin Fahd Al Thani said that under the patronage of the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the 14th edition of Milipol Qatar 2022, organized by the Ministry of Interior, will kick off tomorrow, May 24, 2022 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. The event will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani. 

The current edition of the exhibition will receive visitors from around the world again, at a time when movement between countries of the world is witnessing signs of recovery after the restrictions and precautionary measures taken due to the Coronavirus. We are confident that this year will be an exceptional year for the security sector in Qatar, with the approach of hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The exhibition will host several security seminars over two days, focusing on the safe management of major events and means of enhancing cyber security, He added. 

This year the exhibition hosts more than 220 exhibitors from 22 countries from Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia, and 60% of the exhibitors are participating for the first time. The exhibiting companies participating for the first time come from eight countries: Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Croatia, Finland, India, the Netherlands and Slovakia.

The exhibition also includes pavilions representing 5 countries, including France, North America, Germany, Italy and Austria, which are participating in the event for the first time, in addition to the individual international participations and the participation of 99 exhibiting companies from Qatar.

Maj Gen Al Thani pointed to the growing participation of exhibitors, and the increase in the area covered by the exhibition to reach 11,000 square meters, stating that it is expected a greater turnout from visitors. He invited all concerned bodies to attend the exhibition to learn about the latest technologies and products and to meet local and international companies, as a number of exhibitors will be launching new products and solutions. The exhibition provides an opportunity for manufacturers of equipment for the internal security and civil defense sectors to meet with decision-makers and specialists in the field of security, to exchange knowledge and experiences.

The Milipol Committee Chairman thanked the sponsors for their valuable contribution to the success of Milipol Qatar 2022.

For his part, Yann Jounot, President of Milipol events, highlighted the importance of participation and joint cooperation. He thanked the Qatari Ministry of Interior for the great success of the previous edition of the exhibition, which was organized in times of Covid-19 pandemic, as the Milipol exhibition was one of the first exhibitions held in the region at that time. This shows the capability of Qatar to organize in the midst of the hardships and difficulties it faces. He also praised the Milipol Qatar Committee and its wonderful organizational ability in organizing one of the most important security exhibitions in the region. 

Brig Gen Saud Al Shafi said that all arrangements have been completed for the opening of the 14th session of Milipol Qatar tomorrow, Tuesday, amid great attendance and participation from various countries of the world.
