Mahaseel sells 3.5 million kg vegetables in local market
Doha: Mahaseel for Marketing and Agri. Services Company, which is a subsidiary of Hassad, in a statement announced that it has successfully sold 3.5 million kg of locally produced vegetables in the Qatari Market in the month of January alone. This percentage is triple the amount of vegetables that was marketed during the same time frame in the previous year.Â
Eng. Mohammed Al-Sadah, Hassad CEO expressed the entity’s delight over the tripled marketing of fresh vegetables in the local market when compared with the same period last year. This shows the company’s success in marketing value-added, locally produced vegetables.Â
In the year 2020, Mahaseel was able to successfully market around 19 million kg of vegetables in the local market. He further stated that Mahaseel has been focusing on motivating local farmers to increase the quantity, with no compromise over the quality of local produce - in line with Hassad’s investment strategy – to achieve food security in Qatar.Â
Mahaseel has been marketing over 30 varieties of vegetables in the local market, through 95 hypermarket outlets across the State of Qatar. Around 350 local farms, currently, registered with Mahaseel are benefitting from the marketing and agricultural services.
The company has come up with a dedicated mobile application specifically for farmers (registered with Mahaseel) to provide them with access to all services and information to meet their requirements.Â
