Thousands gathered in Doha in show of support for Palestine
A historic moment for Qatar as thousands attend a pro-Palestine demonstration in Doha.
Thousands of protesters have gathered at the Imam Muhammad Abdel-Wahhab Mosque square in Qatar's capital of Doha, in solidarity with Palestinians.
Outside Qatar’s Imam Muhammad Abdel-Wahhab Mosque, thousands of expats and locals have gathered in solidarity with Palestinians, Al Jazeera’s Showkat Shafi reported from Doha.
They waved Palestinian and Qatari flags and held banners with messages of solidarity with Palestinians while denouncing Israeli attacks on the occupied Palestinian territories.
The roads outside the mosque were gridlocked with cars heading to the protest site. Qatari security personnel were on duty managing crowds and traffic.
