Kuwait Airways
Kuwait Airways has announced the termination of employment for certain employees, citing the financial burden of inflated salaries and an excessive number of staff members, Arab Times reports.
The airline stated that these decisions are part of moves to create opportunities for national talent, rejuvenate the workforce and align with the government’s strategy to reduce unemployment in Kuwait. As a state-owned entity, Kuwait Airways is committed to supporting this national agenda.
The airline is reportedly one of the companies with the highest employee count, leading to significant financial costs estimated in the millions.
According to the airline, the dismissals targeted two specific groups: foreign workers and those eligible for retirement pensions. In recent years, Kuwait Airways has employed retirees with technical expertise to ensure safe operations. Following recent appointments aimed at replacing these roles, the airline has opted to release some of these individuals.
Kuwait Airways claimed that the measures are intended to streamline operations and contribute to the broader goals of national employment and economic efficiency.
