The much-anticipated Khaleeji Classical Music Concert is happening soon in Qatar to bring back the nostalgia of the most celebrated national theme songs that defined a golden decade of Qatar Television.

Not just one, but two days of Khaleeji musical entertainment await you at the gem of the Cultural Village, Katara Amphitheatre as top Arab artists will serenade you with classic hits of all time.

For those of you who don’t know, Khaleeji (meaning Gulf) is a type of modern contemporary music characteristic of Arab states of the Persian Gulf and popular across the Arab world.

Join the Arab superstars as they trudge down memory lane from soundtracks of famous TV shows in the past generations and the best of the ‘80s. 

So, yalla! Grab your Arab music lover friends and don’t miss these musical live events happening in Katara this month.

What to Expect?

The musical event will feature songs we grew to love since Qatar Television inception in the 70s, and 80’s. 

National songs that touched our hearts for many years such as “Allah Ya Omri Qatar” by the late Mohammad Al Saai and more will be performed and we can also expect music for sports lovers.

Theme songs from old TV shows such as the Faiez Al Toush popularized by the two lead actors Ghanem Al Sulaiti and the late Abdulaziz Jassim will be played as well.

Nasheeds from Aqeel Saleh al-Janahi, the prominent TV personality who had his start on Qatar Television working as a Monshed and producer for Qur’an Karim radio will also be in the limelight.

Who Are the Performing Artists?

In this concert, Qatari and Kuwaiti music stars will take the spotlight to play legendary national songs and classical hits.

Ali Abdul Sattar

One of the most successful Qatari singers, Ali Abdul Sattar first rose to fame in the 70’s, singing traditional Khaleeji folklore songs. He is the main vocalist and a star with a large magnitude. He started his career in 1972, which spanned lots of songs paving the way for the future generation of Young Qatari artists as an influential figure in Gulf/Khaleeji music. To date, he has 11 albums and 35 music videos.

Bader Nouri

Renowned Kuwaiti singer Bader Nouri signed with Rotana, a prominent record label in the Middle East. He is a composer who is also best known for singing songs that represent the Kuwait identity and people of the Gulf. A talented vocalist, he holds a master’s degree in Arabic Music from the Academy of Arts in Cairo. He also works as a professor teaching courses such as Oud and Arabic Singing at the Higher Institute of Musical Arts.

Nasser Sahim

A Qatari vocalist and composer, Nasser Sahim, started his musical career in 1995 and has recorded more than 30 singles in the Gulf region. He serves the position of Deputy Executive Director at Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. 

He has produced numerous musical projects for a variety of television programs, including sound effects, commercial and classical music, for all of Qatar’s national media. He has composed the first orchestral symphony for Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, entitled “Four Seasons' in 2013. He is the nephew of the late singer Faraj Abdul Karim.

Dr. Khalid Nouri

Dr. Khalid Nouri is a maestro and a holder of a Phd in Music Performance in Violin. He is a violinist, music arranger, composer, and a maestro.

A blast from the past, it’s going to be a Throwback Thursday and Flashback Friday of the greatest songs in Classical, National, Sports and Khaleeji music genres.
