Katara Cultural Village released 5,000 homing pigeons, marking the start of its accompanying program for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. The program will continue until February 10.

The event took place in Al Hikma Square at Katara, attracting a large audience expressing their enthusiasm for the program, which encompasses various aspects of culture, art, heritage, and Qatari and Asian folklore.

The program includes 46 diverse activities at different locations within Katara, blending knowledge, education, entertainment, and the aesthetics of contemporary creativity and heritage arts. Among the activities are street art festivals, military musical choir performances, parachute displays, and joint special forces demonstrations supervised by the Qatar Air Sports Committee. Additionally, there will be exhibitions featuring Qatari contemporary art, Asian people's cultures, postage stamps related to the AFC Asian Cup, a museum of traditional wooden pulleys, the history of the Oud musical instrument, and the Katara International Exhibition for Kahraman.

The program includes the Katara International Exhibition for Asian people, showcasing the work of 70 artists and Qatari designers, along with five experiences from Mesopotamia, ceramics, and others. It also encompasses the Stars of Asia Exhibition organized by the Qatar Photography Center.

Highlighting traditional attire from participating countries in the AFC Asian Cup, the program features a fashion show. Various interactive workshops, children's competitions, and cinematic presentations are part of the schedule. Katara hosts art and heritage markets such as the Crafts Market and the Art Market for handmade crafts, arts, and designs.

The program celebrates Qatar's fishing heritage with the participation of the Al Gannas Qatari Society. Additionally, a falconry championship is held, and the Astronomical Dome offers unique shows about the solar system, planets, and space in 2D and 3D presentations. Al Hikma Square hosts Brazilian Ricardinho's attempt to break the Guinness World Record by controlling a ball without letting it fall to the ground.
