The Ministry of Interior has issued an updated statement regarding the incident at a factory in Ras Laffan Industrial City, confirming that the explosion was caused by a technical malfunction during operations.
Authorities reported that a number of people sustained injuries as a result of the incident. However, officials stressed that no leaks posing a threat to public safety have been detected.
Emergency and competent authorities remain on-site and continue to respond to the situation while investigations and recovery efforts are ongoing.
