IHF World Men's Handball Championship: Qatar Qualify for Second Round

Qatar qualified for the second round of the 29th IHF World Men's Handball Championship after defeating Kuwait 25-22 on Saturday in the final round of Group C matches in the first round. The championship is being held from January 14 to February 2 in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway.

This is Qatar's first victory in Group C after two losses against France 19-37 and Austria 26-28, raising Qatar's tally to two points in third place.

Qatar handball team is participating in the World Championship for the tenth time in history, after competing in Portugal 2003, Tunisia 2005, Germany 2007, Spain 2013, Qatar 2015, France 2017, Germany and Denmark 2019, Egypt 2021, Poland and Sweden 2023, and subsequently snagged the second place in the 2015 edition held in Qatar.
