How to Replace Lost or Damaged Driver's License

Applicants can reissue their lost or damaged driving licenses or licenses of their employees through the Ministry of Interior online website. This service is available for Qataris and residents holding smart ID cards.

Online Instructions

Log in with your smartcard to the e-services portal of MOI.
Click on "Traffic Services" then "Driving License" followed by "Issue Driving License for Damaged/Lost".
Select whether to replace your lost driving license or that of your employees.
View the driving license information.
Specify new driving license delivery option.
Pay due fees and print receipt.

You can also replace the driving license through Metrash2.

If your driving license has been damaged:

1. Log in to your Metrash2 application, and select ‘Traffic’.

2. Select ‘License Service’ and then select ‘Replace Lost/Damaged License’.

3. Select the type of service: ‘Damaged’, and then enter your QID number.

4. You can select either you want it to pick up from the traffic department near you or get it delivered via Qatar Post (Charges: 20 Qatari Riyals).

5. Enter your credit/debit card details for payment and you will get an SMS confirming your application.

This process will take around a week and if you have chosen to collect it from the traffic department, take your ID card, passport-size photos, and the damaged license with you.

If your driving license has been lost:

1. Visit your nearest police station to report the loss of your driving license.

2. The police officer will provide a letter/report and you might be asked to come back after two weeks or less.

3. On the return date, you have to bring your lost license copy (if available), a QID card copy, your passport-size photos, and the letter/report by the police.

4. You will have to pay a fee of 250 Qatari Riyals by your credit card or debit card only and in this way, you will get your new driving license.

Also, what you can do is report it to the police station/traffic department so that it is in the system and then:

1. Log in to your Metrash2 mobile application, select ‘Traffic’.

2. Select ‘License Service’ and then select ‘Replace Lost/Damaged License’.

3. Select the type of service: ‘Lost’, and then enter your QID number.

4. You can select whether you want it to pick up from the traffic department near you or get it delivered via Qatar Post (Charges: 20 Qatari Riyals).

5. Enter your credit/debit card details for payment and you will get an SMS confirming your application.

This will take around a week depending on what you have chosen, either you chose to collect it or get it delivered to your home.
