During the third quarter of 2023, Hamad International Airport (DOH) continued its impressive performance, witnessing a significant 26.84% rise in passenger traffic compared to the same period last year. The airport accommodated a total of 12,706,475 passengers in Q3, with July seeing 4,305,391, August with 4,398,427, and September with 4,002,657 travelers.
In addition to the surge in passenger numbers, the airport experienced a notable 24.48% increase in aircraft movements, totaling 67,285 flights in Q3. Cargo operations also demonstrated growth, with a 3.38% increase, handling a total of 590,725 tons of cargo.
Key destinations contributing to Hamad International Airport's success included established hubs like Heathrow, Bangkok, Colombo, Cairo, and Manila, as well as expanding routes to Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Al Qassem, Gatwick, and Denpasar Bali. The airport's commitment to expansion was evident with the addition of Lyon and Toulouse in France, and the resumption of flights to Birmingham, Chengdu, and Chongqing.
With 38 airlines operating successfully, Hamad International Airport continues to strengthen its global presence, solidifying its position as a leader in the aviation industry and a crucial gateway connecting Qatar and the Middle East to the world.
