His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani sent cables of congratulations to the presidents of the Maldives and Liberia on the occasion of each country’s Independence Day.
In a message to HE Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, His Highness the Deputy Amir extended congratulations to the president, the government, and the people of the Maldives on the national anniversary.
In a separate cable to HE Joseph Boakai, President of the Republic of Liberia, His Highness offered similar congratulations on Liberia’s Independence Day.
Both the Maldives and Liberia observe 26 July as Independence Day. The Maldives gained independence in 1965; Liberia, in 1847, was among the first independent republics in Africa.
The Amiri Diwan announced the cables on Sunday. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also sent congratulatory cables to the presidents of the Maldives and Liberia on the same occasion, according to official releases.
