HH The Amir Mourns Death of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani mourned Friday, with great sorrow and sadness, the death of HH President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who passed away today.

HH The Amir stressed, in a statement by the Amiri Diwan, that HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was a great leader characterized by wisdom and moderation. His Highness added that the late dedicated his life to serve his country and his nation.

HH The Amir prayed to the Almighty Allah to recompense the deceased fully for his good deeds, to have mercy on his soul and to rest it in peace in paradise, and reward him with the best reward for what he gave to his country and his nation, and prayed that Allah helps the honorable Al Nahyan family and the government and people of the sisterly United Arab Emirates and the Arab and Islamic nations with patience and solace.

Below is the text of the statement:

In the name of Allah the Merciful. The news of HH President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's passing was received with hearts filled with faith in Allah and his Providence, and with great sorrow and deep sadness. 
We have lost with his passing a great leader who was wise and moderate, who devoted his life and effort to serve his country and nation.

We pray to the Almighty Allah to recompense the deceased fully for his good deeds, to have mercy on his soul and to rest it in peace in paradise, and reward him with the best reward for what he gave to his country and his nation, and we pray that Allah helps the honorable Al Nahyan family and the government and people of the brotherly United Arab Emirates and the Arab and Islamic nations with patience and solace. 
"Indeed, to God we belong and to God we shall return,".

HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also ordered the announcement of three days of mourning in the state and ordered flags lowered to half-staff.
