Qatar’s first ever floating grocery has been launched near Al Saffliyah Island for passengers and staff using private boats, ferries, yachts and those individuals who takes part in water sports along the coast.

Al Meera, one of the Qatari-owned-supermarket has taken its motto “dedicated to being neighbourhood in Qatar” to a different level.

The newly initiated floating supermarket is one of the first if its kind in the country and offers different types of snacks and refreshments for those passengers who takes the ride along the coasts.

This newly added Al Meera outlet makes it over 50 branches in total in Qatar.

The floating supermarket is expected to serve with refreshments to all its sailers and passengers who uses private yachs and boats, as it gives them a time of relaxing and enjoyment in the sea.

In the Arab region, the first ever floating supermarket was introduced and opened in Dubai in the year 2018, that gave insights for more outlets across the globe to expand their supermarkets and outlets beyond the land.

The outlet was launched by the French-owned chain Carrefour, and gave access to those using yachts and boats a fun-filled refreshment time.
