Qatar 2022 volunteer
Registrations to become a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 volunteer will close on Sunday, July 31, with interviews set to be completed by August 13 – which marks 100 days to go to the tournament.
FIFA and Qatar are recruiting 20,000 volunteers for the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and Arab world, which will be held in eight state-of-the-art stadiums from 21 November to 18 December. Volunteers will be at the heart of tournament operations, supporting 45 functional areas and more than 30 different roles.
Launched in March this year at Katara Amphitheatre, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Volunteer Programme has interviewed thousands of candidates from more than 170 countries since mid-May, when the Volunteer Centre was opened in Doha.
The interviews are being conducted by volunteers who have actively supported FIFA tournaments organised by Qatar, such as the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2020 and the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021.
Faisal Al Mohanadi, who volunteered at past events and is supporting the recruitment of volunteers for the FIFA World Cup, said: “I am very proud to support the volunteer programme, which will unite people through football and help to introduce fans from across the world to our country. It is my belief that this programme will create a proud volunteering legacy in Qatar and across the region.”
People interested in volunteering should follow the below steps:
• Register at volunteer.fifa.com and fill in the application form
• Play “Take on the Trials” (an online gamified assessment)
• Book your interview
Volunteers must be aged 18 or over by October 1, 2022, speak English and be available to commit to a minimum of 10 shifts during the tournament. Candidates should note that some volunteer roles will start as early as October 1.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Volunteer Programme is the largest in the country’s history and aims to unite people through football to deliver an outstanding tournament – celebrating love for the game and showcasing the true spirit of Qatar.
