Traditional acoustic plaster systems have long posed challenges for project teams. Complex specification requirements, dependence on specialist installation labour, the need for full-surface scaffolding, and lengthy lead times for imported materials can all add cost and programme risk to a project. MELO® was developed precisely to address these constraints.

At the core of the system is a 40 mm build-up comprising a high-performance mineral wool acoustic board finished with a proprietary lime-based acoustic spray coating - a genuine market innovation that replaces traditional plaster with a faster, smarter application method. While the acoustic formulation and engineering originate from Switzerland, the system incorporates locally manufactured components, supporting shorter lead times, greater project flexibility, and a more sustainable supply chain.

The result is a system that does not require highly specialised installation labour or extensive scaffolding, even on complex vaults and domes, reducing both cost and programme risk without compromising on finish quality.

On the technical side, MELO® delivers Class A sound absorption with NRC ratings up to 0.95, alongside A2 fire safety certification. Its lightweight construction means it can be applied across flat, curved, vaulted, and complex architectural surfaces without the need for full-surface scaffolding, while its seamless monolithic finish preserves the minimalist aesthetics that modern architecture demands.

MELO® is built to last, with UV resistance and anti-static properties that keep maintenance straightforward, and any repairs can be handled simply by sanding and re-applying the spray finish with no specialist intervention required. The use of locally manufactured core components and recycled fillers also reduces transport costs, lead times, and embodied carbon compared to fully imported alternatives.
