On 3 May 2026, The Everester Observatory (Oyou) launched a meteor shower alert as the phenomenon is expected to occur over Qatar on the nights of 3-7 May.
The event is understood to take place overnight between 1 am and 4 am. The Moon will also be 80–90% illuminated then, which may drown out the fainter meteors that could otherwise be seen.
The report also said that the meteors can be observed in all its glory from dark places, away from city lights.
Three meteors on average per hour will be seen in the skies of Qatar.
