Education Ministry Launch "Manarat Elm" Charity Initiative to Support Private School and KG Students

Doha, September 22, 2026 : The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has launched the "Manarat Elm" initiative, in partnership with the Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services, aimed at providing comprehensive educational support to eligible students in private schools and kindergartens.

The initiative covers a wide range of needs, including tuition fees, textbooks, school uniforms, transportation, bags, and learning devices, easing the financial burden on qualifying families.

In a first for the program, "Manarat Elm" is also extending its reach into higher education, offering eligible graduates a 30 percent tuition discount at Lusail University.

Speaking on the initiative, Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama said the program is built on community partnerships and the support of philanthropists, adding that further social responsibility projects are planned throughout the year.

Director of the Private Schools and Kindergartens Affairs Department, Dr. Rania Mohammed, said 18,124 seats have been allocated under the project so far, noting that application timelines and school registration procedures are still being finalized.

For her part, foundation representative Dr. Ayedh Al Qahtani said participating schools are listed on the foundation's website to allow donors to select where to direct their contributions. She stressed that student applications go through a rigorous evaluation process using code numbers, ensuring complete privacy and confidentiality for applicants.
