Education Ministry Inaugurates "Excellence, Creativity" Exhibition to Welcome World Cup
HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE), Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi inaugurated Wednesday the "excellence and creativity," exhibition, which is organized by the MOEHE until Sep. 29, including a competition entitled "creations of artistic talents to welcome the World Cup." The exhibition includes artworks of 57 public school students - including special education schools - in addition to several artworks made by teachers and ministry employees. The artworks include 152 paintings, models, and photographs that embody the welcoming atmosphere of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Qatari identity, Qatari dress and heritage, other activities and new events and stadiums, as well as tournaments and sporting events that Qatar hosted before.
In a press statement, HE Dr. Al Nuaimi described the exhibition as distinguished and said that it embodies the creativity of government school students at various educational levels, as they were inspired by the great meanings of the country's hosting of this international sports event, which is being held for the first time in the region, and they reflected all that in their works, drawings, paintings, and models. In turn, this expresses the great interest the MOEHE attaches to the educational and technical aspects of its schools, in addition to the interest of the students themselves, their teachers, and the Ministrys employees in this tournament, which the world is eagerly awaiting.
He noted that these artworks, which reflect the students' creativity, can be used as murals to decorate some areas and roads in the country and gathering areas for visitors and fans. He pointed out that the MOEHE has volunteers who will participate - along with others - in the tasks entrusted to them. He also added that universities such as Qatar university, the University of Doha for Science and Technology - UDST, and Education City, will arrange accommodation and training facilities for some of the teams participating in the international tournament.
Al Nuaimi expressed his confidence that everyone will do their duty to receive Qatar's guests in the best way possible, as dictated by the Islamic religion and the authentic customs of the people and society of Qatar, in terms of hospitality and welcoming guests, indicating that the MOEHE will coordinate with the concerned authorities to decorate the schools and their surroundings in celebration of this global football event.
For her part, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Maha Zayed Al Ruwaili said that the exhibition, with its various paintings and contents, reflects the enthusiasm of public school students in its various stages to receive the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.
The Director of the Corporate Culture Initiative team at the MOEHE and member of the exhibition organizing team Sheikha Rabia explained that the idea of the exhibition reflects the interest in the creativity of talented people and the keenness of the MOEHE on the participation of all its members in the largest international sporting event hosted by the country, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
She indicated that the main objective of the exhibition is to highlight the works of the participants, and their artistic touches on the tournament, and to create a spirit of competition among them, noting that the judging committee will choose in this regard ten paintings according to specific criteria.
She said that around 57 schools participate in the exhibition with more than 100 paintings, and more than 10 models, in addition to the participation of the schools of the Special Education and Gifted Care Department with 9 distinguished paintings, and the Public Relations and Communication Department with 33 photographs of the players of the Qatar first football team.
In the same regard, Chairman of Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar Eng. Mohammed Arqoub Al Khaldi praised the students' creations and their distinguished artworks in the exhibition, adding that the artworks will be used in the decoration works to add an aesthetic dimension to the places where they are placed in.
