Global Champions League
The Doha Falcons, comprising Julien Anquetin, Jerome Guery, and Michael Pender, converted their pole position into a resounding victory in the Global Champions League (GCL) during the Paris leg. Despite fierce competition and captivating performances, the Doha Falcons led from start to finish. Jerome’s horses, Careca LS Elite and Great Britain V, Julien on Z Ice Cube Z, and Pender's HHS Calais were pivotal in their round two success.
The Stockholm Hearts, powered by H&M We Love Horses, secured second place with Nicola and Olivier aboard Katanga v/h Dingeshof and H&M Legend of Love in round two. Cannes Stars, powered by Iron Dames, finished third, with Sophie Hinners on Special Life and Katrin Eckermann delivering a double clear on Cala Mandia NRW.
This marks the Doha Falcons' first win since GCL Samorin in 2021. Speaking with GCTV, Pender expressed his delight, stating, “The crowds here in Paris are amazing; it was brilliant." He noted the team's resilience throughout the year, highlighting their strong bond and talented riders. “We’ve been close all year, just knocking on the door. Our team bond and excellent riders make a big difference – hopefully, we can keep this momentum going,” he added.
