Dhamaal 4 Crosses Rs 100 Crore Worldwide, Becomes Riteish Deshmukh’s 10th Biggest Grosser

MUMBAI - The adventure comedy “Dhamaal 4” has comfortably entered the Rs 100 crore club at the worldwide box office in its first five days — and in doing so has become Riteish Deshmukh’s 10th highest-grossing film of all time, according to trade estimates.

The fourth instalment in the popular “Dhamaal” franchise, led by Ajay Devgn, is estimated to have grossed in the region of Rs 118 crore worldwide by the end of day five, with roughly Rs 101 crore coming from India and about Rs 17 crore from overseas markets. As is usual with Bollywood collections, the exact figures vary between trade trackers, with some placing the global total slightly lower.

The Riteish Deshmukh milestone

With the day-five total, “Dhamaal 4” has surpassed the 2014 comedy “Humshakals” (around Rs 105 crore) to rank as Deshmukh’s 10th biggest grosser worldwide. Trackers noted that the next target within reach was “Housefull,” in the region of Rs 123 crore, which the film was tipped to overtake as its run continued.

It caps a strong year for the actor, who also achieved a landmark with “Raja Shivaji” — a project on which he served as both director and actor, and which became the highest-grossing Marathi film in history.

A steady run after a soft start

Released on July 10, “Dhamaal 4” opened to around Rs 14 crore net in India and built through its first weekend to a domestic total of roughly Rs 65 crore net. After the customary Monday dip, it steadied on its first Tuesday, and the healthy weekday hold helped push it past the century mark worldwide. Trade reports placed it among the higher-grossing Bollywood releases of 2026 by this stage of its run.

Reviews and the road ahead

The commercial momentum has come despite a muted pre-release buzz and a mixed-to-negative critical response, with several reviewers finding the humour laboured. Made on a reported budget of around Rs 200 crore, the film still has ground to cover before it moves comfortably into profit, meaning the consistency of its collections in the weeks ahead — and how it holds against new releases — will be key.

Directed by Indra Kumar, “Dhamaal 4” reunites the franchise’s familiar ensemble, with Ajay Devgn joined by Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi, alongside a supporting cast that includes Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Esha Gupta, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Anjali Anand.
