Curry Supports Harris's White House Campaign

USA basketball star Stephen Curry publicly endorsed Kamala Harris's White House bid on Thursday and believes that Olympic success could help unite the nation ahead of the US presidential elections in November.

The Golden State Warriors star has a strong friendship with the US vice president, who was born in Oakland and has long supported the seven-time NBA champions.

Harris, a former California senator who began her political career as a San Francisco prosecutor, is set to challenge Donald Trump for the presidency in November following Joe Biden's decision not to run.

Curry, participating in his first Olympics, called the political situation in the US a "very interesting time for our country."

"Vice President Harris is bringing her energy to this campaign, and hopefully, she’s on the ticket and winning the election," Curry said at a press conference in Paris.

"It's a big deal, to say the least. She represents the Bay Area and has been a great supporter of ours.

"So I give that energy right back to her and am just excited to represent our country here. The next couple of months are monumental for our country and its direction."

Curry believes a successful US Olympic run could help unify the nation.

"Hopefully, this is a great way to do our part in continuing to unite the country," Curry said. "Sports bring people together.

"We're all about positive energy and optimism, knowing how divided our country is right now. I'm just excited for the journey ahead for her."
