Comprehensive ambulance coverage planned for Expo 2023 Doha
The Ambulance Service at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is set to provide comprehensive medical support for Expo 2023 Doha at Al Bidda Park, as disclosed by Saleh al-Meqareh, assistant executive director, in an interview with local Arabic daily Arrayah. Two ambulances have been assigned for Expo 2023 Doha, supplemented by mobile patrols on bicycles, golf carts, or foot within the venue. An emergency plan is in place, ensuring additional ambulances if required. Two medical clinics will operate during exhibition hours and extend until the departure of attendees. Ambulance coverage will vary daily, with regular service on non-event days and enhanced coverage on event days, concerts, weekends, and holidays. Supervisors and communication officers will be present, ensuring coordination with the National Command Centre. Special ambulance coverage will be provided for events at Lusail Boulevard throughout the Expo period, assessed by the Risk Assessment Department for appropriate coverage. The fleet comprises 120 diverse vehicles, including 40 dedicated to transporting patients unable to visit hospitals, along with an around-the-clock air ambulance service using two aircraft for swift emergency transport from remote areas to hospitals.
