Changing Profession, Requesting Work Permits 'Only Available Online' From Today
Starting today, August 23, 2020, profession amendment requests and business licenses services will be available only digitally through the website of the Ministry of Administrative Development Social and Labour Affairs (MADSLA).
Both services are available online only after the Ministry has decided to suspend them through government service complexes.
The labour ministry posted on Twitter:
“We inform you of the suspension of the following services, as of August 23, 2020: A profession amendment request and Business licenses services through government services complexes, and you can apply for these services through the ministry's website.”
The Ministry stated that customers could apply for these services via the Ministry’s website. It added that customers could apply for the service of amending profession through which the requester of amending or changing job title in QID card (resident) could do it via the following:
- Mandoob (public relations officer, PRO)
- or the party concerned
- or the authorized signatory with attaching required documents in line with a number of conditions and terms
The official further advised that the service is available for private and shareholding companies.
Important points on the registration of worker data:
- Worker’s QID card
- Person in charge of establishment must be fully responsible for the authenticity of registered data via mandatory acknowledgment within the digital service.
The requirements to be attached are:
- A photocopy of QID card pertaining to the authorized signatory
- photocopy of QID card pertaining to an amendment requester
- photocopy of establishment card
- photocopy of municipality license
- photocopy of commercial registration
- academic qualification certificates attested by the official bodies
The new online services recently launched on the ministry's website are the following:
Requesting a work permit (issuance of a work card) - for those who are on the residency of their relatives
Changing the profession - for residents who wish to issue a new work permit or renew, cancel and extract a replacement for a lost one.
