Qatar Cabinet meeting
The Cabinet held its regular meeting on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan under the chairmanship of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.
HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi said in a statement following the meeting:
At the beginning of the meeting, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs condemned military escalation in the region which has reached to target Qatar's territory and some civilian and vital facilities.
His Excellency added that Qatar's security and stability are a blessing that is due to the grace of Allah, and was supported by the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir (may Allah protect him), solidarity in society and its confidence in its leadership, as well as efforts by state institutions with all their national fabric.
His Excellency Underlined that HH the Amir directed to continue diligent efforts in order to ensure uninterrupted delivery of services throughout all sectors.
In this regard, His Excellency praised the role played by Qatar Armed Forces, whose high degree of readiness and efficiency in protecting the overhead space of Qatari territories and enhancing their security. He further commended the efforts by the security services in order to preserve and maintain the security and stability of society.
He also commended community members for their awareness, responsibility and dedication in such conditions.
The Cabinet reiterated its firm condemnation of the continuation of the unwarranted attacks launched by Iran against Qatar's territory and against territories of fraternal countries in a gross violation of national sovereignty as well as principles of good neighborliness, with total disregard for serious repercussions they entail for regional security and on the global economy.
The Cabinet reaffirmed the State of Qatar's readiness to do what necessitated preserving its sovereignty and security, protecting its people and residents, defending their rights and securing its national interests in accordance with the provisions of international law, the Charter of the United Nations and accordingly to its letters sent to the UN Security Council.
It also called for an immediate end to any escalatory actions, the priority of dialogue, and stepped-up diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis and preserve regional security.
The Cabinet then discussed the items on its agenda and made the corresponding decisions with respect thereto.
