Cabinet Approves Draft Law Regulating Right to Obtain Information

Cabinet Meeting

The Cabinet chaired by HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, approved in its regular meeting held recently at its headquarters in the Amiri Diwan a draft law regulating the right to obtain information and refer it to the Shura Council.

The Administrative Control and Transparency Authority has prepared the draft law, to achieve the highest indicators of integrity and transparency and to keep pace with global developments in this regard.

The cabinet approved a draft Amiri Decision amending some provisions of Decision No. 19 of 2011 establishing the Standing Committee for Water Resources.

The Cabinet then considered the following items on the agenda:

1. Approval and referral to the Shura Council of a draft law regulating the right to obtain information.

The draft law was prepared by the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority in order to achieve the highest levels of integrity and transparency, as well as to keep up with global developments in this area.

2. A draft Amiri Decision amending some provisions of Decision No. 19 of 2011 establishing the Standing Committee for Water Resources was approved.

3. Qatar Tourism's participation in the ILTM Asia Pacific 2022 exhibition, which will be held in Singapore from June 20 to 23, 2022, has been approved.

4. Take the necessary steps to ratify the memorandum of understanding between the Qatari General Authority of Customs and the World Customs Organization regarding the establishment of a regional training center affiliated with the World Customs Organization in Qatar.
