Awqaf suspends Eid prayer in open grounds, limits prayer to approved mosques only

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced on March 18th, 2026 that Eid Al-Fitr prayer for the year 1447 AH will be performed in closed mosques across the state according to the ministry's concern for worshipers safety based on what is taking place in the country.

The ministry said in a statement that 5:53 am is the time for prayer during which Allah Almighty will be invoked to protect the State of Qatar, its Emir, government and people as well as residents on its land, wishing the blessed occasion to recur with goodness and prosperity for all.

Awqaf also said the mosques where Eid prayer will be held would be announced.
