Amir and Father Amir perform Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayer today

HH the Amir and HH the Father Amir performed the Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayer along with crowds of worshipers at Al-Wajba prayer ground on Thursday morning, in revival of the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him), praying to Allah the Almighty for rainfall.

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, performed the rain prayer this morning with the crowds of worshipers in the Al-Wajbah prayer hall, in commemoration of the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, asking for the rain to descend.

His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani also performed the prayer.

The prayer was also performed by His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the personal representative of the Emir, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani and His Excellency Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani.

HE Mr. Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, Speaker of the Shura Council, and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, Ministers and Citizens also participated in the prayer.

His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Thaqil Sayer Al-Shammari, judge of the Court of Cassation, member of the Supreme Judicial Council, who led the worshipers, in a sermon he delivered after the prayer, emphasized the importance of supplication to God and showing the need for Him for rain and asking for forgiveness from Him, Glory be to Him, because it is one of the causes of rain, and his eminence explained that the prayer for rain is a prayer Pray, pray, repent and seek forgiveness, and it is one of the ways of the messengers, for God commanded us to pray, and promised His faithful servants to answer.

He also called on his eminence to purify money and souls with zakat and alms, and urged a lot of seeking forgiveness by saying the Most High:
