His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, engaged in discussions with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkiye regarding bilateral relations between the two nations and avenues for their enhancement, alongside regional and international developments, particularly focusing on the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian Territories.
The dialogue occurred during a telephone conversation initiated by His Highness the Amir on Monday with President Erdogan.
Both parties emphasized the importance of de-escalating tensions and refraining from exacerbating conflicts in the region. They also underscored the significance of establishing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories as a step toward achieving a permanent and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue, ultimately fostering enduring peace in the region.
Furthermore, His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, also addressed bilateral relations and avenues for bolstering them with President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi of the Islamic Republic of Iran, alongside discussing regional and international developments.
This discussion took place during a separate phone call initiated by His Highness the Amir on Monday with President Raisi of Iran.
His Highness emphasized the imperative of reducing all forms of escalation and preventing the widening of conflicts in the region during this conversation.
Additionally, both parties stressed the necessity of implementing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories to pave the way for a permanent and definitive solution to the Palestinian predicament, thereby promoting enduring and comprehensive peace in the region.
