Al Wakra Public Park
Al Wakra Public Park is set to open by the end of the year, with over 90% of construction completed, according to Al Wakra Municipalityâs Director General, Eng. Mohammed Hassan Al Nuaimi. The park is part of broader efforts to enhance public facilities and recreational spaces in the city.
The new park will feature jogging tracks, childrenâs play areas, fitness equipment, and recreational zones. Al Nuaimi also highlighted ongoing projects to develop parks within residential areas, promoting healthy lifestyles and community interaction.
âGreen spaces in Al Wakra have increased by 1,300% thanks to landscaping efforts,â said Al Nuaimi, emphasizing the environmental and aesthetic benefits, including reduced carbon emissions.
Al Wakraâs beachesâPublic Beach, Family Beach, and Sealine Beachâhave seen over half a million visitors in the past six months. Following increased demand, new amenities have been added, including childrenâs play areas and spaces for women.
In line with Qatar National Vision 2030, Al Wakra has embraced sustainable initiatives such as solar-powered beach lighting and waste recycling programs. In May, a 500m marine promenade made from recycled materials was introduced at Al Wakra Public Beach, designed for people with visual impairments, featuring Braille signboards.
These projects reflect Al Wakraâs commitment to raising quality of life while fostering sustainability and inclusion.
