8 Arab and Islamic Countries Condemn Statements by Israeli Ministers on Displacement of Palestinians

Doha, Qatar | September 06, 2026 – The Foreign Ministers of the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Türkiye have strongly condemned recent statements by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip, including proposals for plans and mechanisms aimed at forcibly removing Palestinians from their land.

Statements Described as Flagrant Violation of International Law

In a joint statement, the ministers said such inflammatory statements and proposals represent a clear violation of the principles of international law, including international humanitarian law, and pose a direct threat to the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

Ministers Reject Any Attempt at Displacement

The ministers reaffirmed their unequivocal rejection and condemnation of any attempts or plans to displace the Palestinian people, whether within or outside the Occupied Palestinian Territory, under any pretext. They warned of the grave consequences of turning calls for forced displacement into official policy or concrete action aimed at uprooting Palestinians from their land, describing such measures as a direct challenge to international peace efforts — chief among them President Donald Trump's Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, which explicitly rejects forced displacement — and warning that they risk gravely undermining regional stability.

Gaza's Unity with Palestinian Territory Underscored

The ministers stressed that the Gaza Strip remains an integral part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, underscoring the need to preserve the unity of Palestinian territory across Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. They reaffirmed that a just and lasting peace can only be achieved through the two-State solution, with the establishment of an independent Palestinian State along the June 4, 1967 lines and East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with relevant international resolutions.

Call for International Community, UN Security Council to Act

The ministers called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities and firmly confront any attempts to impose a new demographic or geographic reality in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, while ensuring respect for international law. They reaffirmed their continued support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their firm rejection of any attempts to erase the Palestinian cause or undermine the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
