5 Russian planes and 1 helicopter shot down, claims Ukraine

Five Russian planes and one helicopter were shot down, General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced on Thursday.

The Ukraine military said that five Russian planes and a helicopter were shot down in the Luhansk region, as reported by Ukrainian News Agency (Ukrinform).

The Ukrainian international borders in sections close to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus were attacked by Russian forces.

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, attacks on border units, border patrols and checkpoints are carried out using artillery, heavy equipment and small arms in the Luhansk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Zhytomyr areas, adding that the attack was being carried out from Donetsk and Luhansk regions and from the Republic of Crimea.
