Sustainability Conference
Organized by the Ministry of Municipality over two days, the 3rd Recycling Towards Sustainability Conference & Exhibition under the slogan 'Together we make the difference.. For a sustainable future' concluded today.
A group of experts and academics in the field of recycling and sustainability from inside and outside the State of Qatar tackled - through 10 main axes and 22 working papers during several dialogue sessions and presentations - a number of topics related to the optimal and effective ways to manage waste, recycling and devoting sustainability as an irreversible option in the State of Qatar.
HE Minister of Municipality Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie honored the official sponsors, in the presence of HE Minister of Environment and Climate Change Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser Al-Thani and a number of ministry officials and representatives of the entities participating in the accompanying exhibition. A special honor was presented to Assistant Ministry for Special Education Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Omar Al Naama in appreciation of the ministry's contribution to the success of the zero-waste competition organized within the framework of the conference's activities for school students.
The final day of the conference witnessed 11 sessions in which several scientific research and successful experiences were discussed, including a panel discussion on academic and scientific research in the field of waste management, in addition to working papers on the efforts of community institutions concerned with waste, human rights systems and waste management through environmental assessment strategy, and the expertise and services of the private sector in the field of waste management.
The first day also discussed, through 11 sessions, the efforts of the State of Qatar in the field of waste management and recycling, laws and regulations related to waste management, investment opportunities in the field of waste management and hazardous waste, the employment of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in the field of waste management, and successful experiences in the field of waste management in the region.
