2nd Edition of the Autonomous e-Mobility Forum Concludes in Doha

Doha, September 08 , 2026 : The 2nd edition of the Autonomous e-Mobility Forum (AEMOB) concluded its two-day conference programme on Tuesday, hosted by the Ministry of Transport at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

Wide Participation from Global Mobility Leaders

The event was organized by Just Us & Otto and drew broad participation from leading officials, experts, and pioneers in the smart transportation sector from Qatar and around the world.

Expert Sessions Cover Future of Autonomous Transport

The expert programme covered the latest developments in the sustainable transportation ecosystem through specialized panel discussions addressing the future of autonomous public transport and the expansion of autonomous vehicle deployment from free zones to city streets, with the participation of major institutions and entities. Sessions also explored the prospects for air mobility through electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and related regulatory safety standards.

Maritime Electrification, Cybersecurity Among Key Topics

Participants discussed the electrification of the maritime sector, autonomous vessels, and green ports, alongside cybersecurity and data privacy implications, innovations in ultra-fast charging batteries, and global policy and regulatory frameworks.

Parallel Workshops Focus on Smart Grids, AI Traffic Systems

A parallel track featured advanced technical workshops on integrating electric vehicle charging systems with smart grids, held in cooperation with Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa). The workshops also covered AI-powered intelligent traffic systems and included case studies on the deployment of autonomous mobility regionally and globally, in collaboration with academic and research institutions, notably Qatar University and the University of Doha for Science and Technology.

Discussions on Safety, Talent Development Round Out Programme

The programme also featured interactive discussions and live polls on safety and ethical issues related to self-driving vehicles, as well as electric vehicle ownership experiences and associated challenges in Qatar. Sessions on education and talent explored future jobs in the autonomous mobility industry and ways to bridge the skills gap and train young technicians and engineers, with participation from leading academic and financial institutions.
