22 Falconers Qualified in Marmi 2023 Festival
The competitions of 14th edition of the Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi 2023), held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani and organized by Al Gannas Association, saw an upsurge in number of qualifiers for Al Talaa and Hadad Al-Tahadi Championships after powerful contests. The festival will run until Jan. 28, 2023.
Al Talaa Championship contests for the groups from 18 to 23, resulted in falconers being qualified on Wednesday morning, namely Shaheen Salem Al Dosari from Group 18, and Rashid Omar Ahmed Al Hamidi from Group 20, bringing the number of qualifiers in the Al Talaa Championship to 10.
During the evening times, and amid a striking attendance of masses from citizens, residents and tourists who are currently visiting Qatar, the thrilled Hadad Al-Tahadi Championship kicked off for group D, where 6 contestants qualified.
Chairman of the Hadad Al-Tahadi Committee Ali Sultan Nasser Al Hamidi said that the competitions will end on Thursday and Friday to further resume next Saturday.
The qualifiers said that they are delighted for the achievement they made, extending their thanks and gratitude to the Marmi 2023 organizing committee, in addition to its significant efforts through working stoically to have a successful festival.
This year event saw wide international participations, specially from United Arab Emirates who confirmed that the festival is a vital event for gulf falconers as it combines large gatherings from professional falconers.
