2023 World Judo Championship
At a momentous handover ceremony in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Thursday, the 2023 World Judo Championships flag was handed over to Qatar, the next host country of the event.
The ceremony was held during the visit of the Organising Committee of the World Judo Championship-Doha 2023 to the Uzbek capital to attend the World Championship.Â
The Chairman of the Sports Committee of the World Judo Championships - Doha 2023, Eid Al Muraikhi, said, "It is an absolute honour for us to receive the World Judo Championships flag. We congratulate Tashkent for hosting a successful edition of the World Judo Championships and we thank all their teams for their support over the few days in transferring their knowledge and expertise to our teams."Â
"Hosting the upcoming edition of the World Judo Championships is another feather in Qatar’s cap in light of its commitment to develop Judo in our region," he added.Â
It is worth mentioning that the International Judo Federation (IJF) delegation visited Doha last September, where Claudiu Chimoiu, who led the IJF's team, hailed Qatar's preparations to host the World Championships.
