September 06, 2026 – Palestinian sources reported that 124 settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Sunday in successive groups through the Dung Gate, carrying out provocative tours around the compound.
Part of Pattern of Ongoing Incursions
The incident comes amid repeated incursions carried out under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, marked by continued escalation and violations against Palestinians and their holy sites.
26 Incursions Recorded in August
The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments documented 26 incursions into the Al-Aqsa compound by Israeli authorities and settlers during the month of August. It noted that settlers have continued to enter the mosque through the Dung Gate during both morning and evening periods, under heavy protection from Israeli police.
Talmudic Rituals, Restrictions on Ibrahimi Mosque Also Reported
The incursions have included the performance of Talmudic and provocative rituals inside the compound, while the Ministry noted that the call to prayer was banned at the Ibrahimi Mosque 155 times over the same period.
